The ARISE Board consists of 10 members representing a cross-section of business organizations with geographical and gender balance. It is co-chaired by an ARISE member and the Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Disaster Risk Reduction (SRSG). Only ARISE members can vote.

Timeline of Board Elections:

  • Campaign

UNDRR to send the links out to the videos and make it possible to contact and put forward questions to the candidates via the campaign workspace.

(campaign, 8 July - 23 July)

  • Voting period

(elections are open for two weeks, 24 July - 7 August)
  • Announce the results

(the committee has two weeks to announce the Board members elected by ARISE members; UNDRR has to announce the Board members appointed by UNDRR within the same deadline, 8 August - 21 August)
  • Consultations

(one week to receive any consultations on the results, 22 August - 29 August)
  • Reply to consultations

(the election committee will have ten days to reply to such consultations, 30 August - 8 September)

The selected Board members decide on the Co-chair and Vice-chair.
