SPIN Global exists to provide solutions that help public and private sector agencies improve coordination prior to a disaster.
SPIN Global enables organizations to jointly plan, train, and operate together effectively as a team and assist one another in the time of need. SPIN Global addresses this coordination challenge by modernizing disaster risk reduction and emergency preparedness programs, with a distinct focus on applied science and the use of technology as a catalyst for change in how coordination is achieved to improve disaster resilience.

Policies and Programmes in DRR
SPIN Global improves DRR through coordinated multi-sector information sharing policies and programs within the private sector, in a binational context, within the energy sector and for families and businesses. The CEO is Chair of the National Emergency Management Association Private Sector Committee Information Sharing Task Force, provided lead support to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in the Canada-U.S. Enhanced Resiliency Experiment series, supported the Electric Infrastructure Security Council "Black Sky" project, and is currently launching www.PlanetReady.com to "Uber-ize" disaster preparedness.

Voluntary Commitments
The Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) online platform allows stakeholders to inform the public about their work on DRR. The SFVC online platform is a useful toolto know who is doing what and where for the implementation of the Sendai Framework, which could foster potential collaboration among stakeholders. All stakeholders (private sector, civil society organizations, academia, media, local governments, etc.) working on DRR can submit their commitments and report on their progress and deliverables.
