ARISE Egypt

Launched in 2020

The ARISE Egypt Network was launched in October 2021. The creation of the network reflects Egypt’s commitment towards disaster risk reduction and its important role in developing resilient cities and communities.

With the private sector acting as the catalyst and a critical partner, ARISE Egypt members shall focus on:
• Enhancing the resilience of Small and Medium Enterprises
• Integrating disaster and climate risk into investment decisions by the financial sector
• Supporting resilient infrastructure development;
• Agriculture
• Tourism
• Finance and Insurance

Network leadership

ARISE Egypt consists of a Board and Secretariat. The 11-member Board is led by the Chair, Adel El-Lamei, who is also the Network Lead. In addition to this there is a Co- and Vice - Chairperson. The initiative is supported a Secretariat hosted by the Egyptian Businessmen's Association (EBA).

The governance structure of the network is laid out in its Terms of Reference.
