Africa
ARISE Networks in Africa are exciting new establishments to ARISE. They are subject to oversight by the UNDRR Regional Office for Africa (ROA). Chief of Office Amjad Abbashar leads the office. The regional ARISE Focal point is Julius Kabubi. The development of ARISE Networks in Africa started in the spring of 2020 in South and East Africa. The networks were quick to make waves in ARISE Globally. An example of this was the Global ARISE Board election and the ARISE 2020 Annual General Meeting.
Regional UNDRR Office Focal Point
ARISE East Africa
In Kenya, the establishment of ARISE East Africa began in the spring of 2020. This was a result of the hard work of Safety Instructors and Planners K Limited and Eastern Africa Humanitarian Private Partnership Platform. The ARISE Network was active from the beginning. They ran for the global ARISE Board and presented at the ARISE 2020 Annual General Meeting. ARISE East Africa are especially active in pushing for building resilience for SMEs.
ARISE South Africa
In South Africa, the Africa Business Group was central to establishing ARISE South Africa in the spring of 2020. The ARISE Network was active from the beginning. Africa Business Group won a spot in the global ARISE board and spoke at the ARISE 2020 Annual General Meeting. ARISE South Africa are especially active in building resilience for SMEs as well as in engaging the financial sector like the tourism sector.
Americas
ARISE Networks in the Americas and the Caribbean are subject to oversight by the UNDRR Regional Office for the Americas and the Caribbean (ROAC). Chief of Office, Raul Salazar, leads the office. The regional ARISE Focal point is Melany Paola Riquetti Moran. The ARISE Networks in the Americas and the Caribbean are the most plentiful with almost 20 networks. The Networks show active engagement and leadership providing both the current and former Co-Chair of the Global ARISE Board Martha Herrera of CEMEX and Dale Sands of MD Sand Consulting Solutions LLC. Engagement in this region covers all four ARISE Priority Areas: SMEs: Enhancing the resilience of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs); Integrating disaster and climate risk into investment decisions by the financial sector; Incentivizing disaster risk reduction and enhanced data for risk-informed decision-making through engagement with the insurance industry as global risk manager; Supporting resilient infrastructure development.

ARISE Barbados
Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry leads ARISE Barbados through its representation of businesses in Barbados.
ARISE Brazil
Analytical Intelligence System Research (AISR) established ARISE Brazil and has been heavily active in the Global ARISE network securing a member of the Global ARISE Board. Especially the ‘Making Smart Cities’ initiative has the focus of ARISE Brazil.
ARISE British Virgin Islands
BVI Chamber of Commerce and Industry leads ARISE British Virgin Islands through its representation of the local private sector.
ARISE Colombia
ARISE Colombia is currently led by Consejo Colombiano de Seguridad (CCS) and Asociación Nacional de Empresarios de Colombia (ANDI), both of whom presented at the ARISE 2020 Annual General Meeting on the implementation of the ARISE Communication Strategy and Advocacy Model.
ARISE Dominica
Dominica Association of Industry and Commerce (DAIC) leads ARISE Dominica and actively engages with the regional and global ARISE community. DAIC also secured a spot as a Global ARISE Board member and has actively presented at several ARISE events. ARISE Dominica especially focuses on SME resilience in their ARISE capacity.
ARISE Dominican Republic
Red Nacional de Apoyo Empresarial a la protección Ambiental (ECORED) leads ARISE Dominican Republic.
ARISE El Salvador
In 2020 Fundanción Emprisarial Para la Acción Social (FUNDEMAS) established ARISE El Salvador.
ARISE Grenada
In 2020 the Grenanda Chamber of Industry & Commerce established ARISE Grenada.
ARISE Mexico
In 2019 CEMEX and other partners launched the ARISE Mexico Network. CEMEX served as Vice-Chair of the Global ARISE Board in the previous term as well and are now serving as the Co-Chair. ARISE Mexico actively engages with the ARISE communication strategy and the advocacy model to grow the network and build resilience in their local communities. ARISE Mexico is highly active in all four ARISE Priority Areas: SMEs: Enhancing the resilience of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs); Integrating disaster and climate risk into investment decisions by the financial sector; Incentivizing disaster risk reduction and enhanced data for risk-informed decision-making through engagement with the insurance industry as global risk manager; Supporting resilient infrastructure development.
ARISE Network of Chambers of Commerce from the Caribbean Community (CARICHAM)
CARICHAM acts as an umbrella organization for the Chambers of Commerce in the Caribbean, now consisting of 20 members from across the Caribbean. CARICHAM serves as a platform designed to promote partnerships, information sharing and collaboration among the region´s chambers of commerce for the advancement of disaster risk reduction and resilience.
ARISE Trinidad & Tobago
American Chamber of Commerce of Trinidad and Tobago (AMCHAM) leads ARISE Trinidad & Tobago.
ARISE United States of America
MD Sands Consulting Solutions LLC leads ARISE USA with support from Jacobs Engineering Group Inc., Debbra A.K. Johnson, LLC, and Golder. The Network is highly active in the Global ARISE with multiple members of the previous ARISE Board include MD Sands Consulting Solutions LLC serving as Co-Chair. The Network now has new blood on the board with Disaster Recovery Institute International. ARISE USA is highly active in all four ARISE Priority Areas, but special mentioning should be made to disaster-resilient investments and building resilient infrastructure.
Central American Integration Network for Corporate Social Responsibility (INTEGRARSE) alliance
In Central America, ARISE is embedded within the Central American Integration Network for Corporate Social Responsibility (INTEGRARSE) alliance, a sub-regional initiative. INTEGRARSE is a network of private organizations in seven countries of the region, which supports companies in the dissemination and implementation of social responsibility initiatives as part of their business strategies. It also has a partnership with regional governmental organizations, such as Coordination Centre for the Prevention of Disasters in Central America (CEPREDENAC) and the Global Compact.
Asia
ARISE Networks in Asia and the Pacific are subject to oversight by the UNDRR Regional Office for Asia & Pacific (ROAP). Chief of Office Loretta Hieber-Giradet leads the office. The regional ARISE Focal point is Animesh Kumar and for Japan, Yuki Matsuoka. The ARISE Networks in Asia and the Pacific were the first established ARISE Networks and have shown high levels of interest and active engagement with ARISE and with private sector engagement with DRR.

ARISE India
In 2017, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry founded ARISE India. FICCI consists of 250,000 companies from over 60 different sectors and actively engages with ARISE globally. An example of this is the spot the network secured in the Global ARISE Board. ARISE India is especially active in working with SME resilience.
ARISE Japan
Private companies in Japan established ARISE Japan After the UN adopted the Sendai Framework. ARISE Japan is an active network, especially through its contributions to the voluntary commitments of the Sendai Framework. ARISE Japan also shares experiences and engages in the global ARISE Network. ARISE Japan currently consists of over 20 member companies covering several sectors. The Network actively works with all four ARISE Priority Areas:
SMEs: Enhancing the resilience of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs);
Integrating disaster and climate risk into investment decisions by the financial sector;
Incentivizing disaster risk reduction and enhanced data for risk-informed decision-making through engagement with the insurance industry as global risk manager;
Supporting resilient infrastructure development.
ARISE Philippines
In 2012, after tropical storm Sendong, SM Prime Holdings took the role to lead advocacy for disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) within the private sector. SM Prime Holdings organized the first annual meeting amongst top leaders in the private and public sectors to address issues relative to DRRM. In the same year, Mr. Hans Sy, President of SM Prime Holdings, became a member of UNISDR’s (now UNDRR) Private Sector Advisory Group.
In 2015, after the UN adopted the Sendai Framework, UNDRR merged its private sector initiatives to create the Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies (ARISE).
In 2015 SM Prime Holdings and over 60 partners formally established the ARISE Philippines Network. To date, there are over 150 members of ARISE-Philippines.
Arab States
In the Arab States, ARISE member activities are subject to oversight by the UNDRR Regional Office for Europe (ROAS). Chief of Office Sujit Mohanty leads the office. The regional ARISE Focal point is Camilo Téllez Robayo. In the Arab States, there are no ARISE Networks yet, but this does not mean that ARISE is not active in the Arab States. Estmrarya Management Consulting secured a spot in the global ARISE board. They also presented on resilience-building for SMEs in the face of COVID-19 at the ARISE 2020 Annual General Meeting.

Europe
In Europe, ARISE member activities are subject to oversight by the UNDRR Regional Office for Europe (ROE). Chief of Office Octavian Bivol leads the office. The regional ARISE Focal point is Nicholas Ramos. In Europe, there are no ARISE Networks yet, but this does not mean that ARISE is not active in Europe. The UPS Foundation won the election for Vice-Chair of the Global ARISE Board. Furthermore, Willis Tower Watson presented on engagement with financial investors at the ARISE 2020 Annual General Meeting.
